International Peace Light - Christmas 2008
Explorer Scouts have once again been instrumental in distributing a message of Peace to the world as a tiny flame, taken from the eternal flame which burns in the Grotto of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem set Notts alight. Stef wins YOPEY 2008 - Dec 2008
Stefan Prest, 18, who is now an Assistant Explorer Scout Leader in Mansfield district, was crowned young person of the year 2008 at County Hall in West Bridgford. Stef was one of 12 finalists who had been shortlisted from loads of impressive candidates.

County Flag - Sept 2008

Kids Outdoors - July 2008
Well done to all - especially the Explorer Scouts - who attended the fabulous day in the Old Market Square to promote Kids Outdoors in Nottinghamshire. Every person who passed through the Old Market Square, including the Chief Scout, knew for definite that Scouting is alive and kicking in Notts! More photos... Apex Challenge Results - May 2008
The May 2008 Apex Challenge boasted a record 16 activity bases. Read the results of 56 teams, including Gemini Pollux and Rufford Explorers who all spent six hours collecting points through the darkness of Sherwood Pines Forest Park. Details of the activities they tackled and photos of the event are also online.
