Dear Sir,

During the Sunrise week, Saturday 28th July to Saturday 4th August 2007, the Merlin Explorer Scout Unit from Nottinghamshire undertook their Annual Summer Camp at our County Training & Activity Centre; Nine Ashes, near Bodmin, Cornwall.

During the course of the week, there were eleven groups camping on site, over 350 people, and on 1st August the Explorer Unit attended our Sunrise event at The Eden Project, with over 2500 attending from across the county.

Can I bring to your attention, the high standard of camping, presentation and bearing of this group of Explorer Scouts. I have to say, that having been in scouting for many years, this unit must be one of the best Explorer or Venture Scout Units I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From their arrival at the site, to the day they departed, their attitude towards others, their standard of dress when off site, and their respect for scouting, was exemplary.

I just wanted to bring to your attention, that this Unit were not only a credit to themselves, but a fantastic refection on your county as a whole.
