Newark District covers the Market Town of Newark and surrounding villages. It stretches from Flintham in the South to Norwell in the North including Coddington, Collingham and Balderton. There are five active Explorer Units that are based at scout headquarters across the District: Flintham ESU - An activity orientated unit who meet to suit. Although there are many Young Leaders helping within the younger sections the District has no specific Young Leader Unit. The District has a Duke of Edinburgh group that meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at Coddington scout headquarters to which every district explorer is invited to join. There are currently two active Silver groups with a new Bronze group due to be formed in September 2007 |

27th April 2007 - Ready Steady Cook Newark District Explorer Ready Steady Cook Competition took place on Friday 27 April 2007 and was hosted by 7th Newark. |
23rd - 25th March 2007 - Winter Walking weekend in Wales The County Activities Team as usual were superb and fantastic weather ensured that the 10 Explorers and 2 Leaders had a weekend to remember staying in Haford Hostel close to Tryfan. |
16th March 2007 - Red Nose Day Flintham hosted a Newark District Explorer Red Nose Day Event to raise funds for the cause. Units attending included Flintham, 6th Newark, 7th Newark, & Coddington. Events staged were Caterpillar water relay, Blind obstacle course, Red Pancake tossing (& eating) plus a campfire to finish. Flintham unit raised approximately £300; the 25% which they are entitled to keep will be used to help fund a "Bring a Friend Camp" in July. |
