Gang Show 2009

Gang Show Cast 1

Hundreds of Scouts and Guides from across Nottinghamshire took to the stage for their first rehearsal in Nottingham's Theatre Royal the first Sunday of February.

The young people all aged from 8 to 18 were amazed as the curtain lifted to reveal to view the 1186 seat auditorium.

Nottingham Gang Show is a variety show held at the Theatre Royal Nottingham and showcases the talents of over 200 young people drawn from Scouting and Guiding from across the County.

Cub Scout, Benjamin Raven, 9 from 2nd Beeston said, "I've been practicing my words and learning the dances for ages, being on a real stage felt cool, I can't wait to perform there for real now!!"

With over 50 years association with the Theatre, the Show plays for a full week, performing to almost 8500 audience members.

The run begins on Monday 23 - Saturday 28 March and is a dazzling 2 1/2 hour mix of songs and comedy. Backstage and Production staff too are drawn from the organisations and the professionalism of the company is a credit to Scouting and Guiding.

Gang Show 2

The Show's producer, Jock Shaw said "To have the opportunity of performing on the Theatre's stage is not only a rewarding challenge to the cast of young people, but a fun one too where, through many months of rehearsing, new friendships are forged."

From the Cub Scouts and Brownies Rock n' Rolling to the Senior cast's musicals and comedy sketches this show is both a great night out for the family and and an achievement for those taking part.
