Doing what it says on the tin

Southwest Notts Network recently chanllenged City Network to an orenterring course around Beeston. Southwest won by 2 points however City would like a return leg to settle the score. For most this was the first time that the 2 units had met up to run a joint activity but we hope this wont be the last. This is a prime example of Network doing what it says on the tin - getting out there and meeting up. lets keep it going.

 SouthWest Notts Network:

The new Network group covering South West Notts District Known as Trent Network are meeting every Tuesday in the Beeston are. Below is a link to their program. If you would like to join or if would like to visit you are always more than welcome

D of E

The main awards of The Chief Scout's Platinum, Chief Scout's Diamond and The Queen's Scout Award are linked to a Duke of Edinburgh Award. If you haven't already done so, you should consider registering for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award now. It will give you extra recognition for your achievements in Scouting.

To obtain a  The Queen's Scout Award you need to either hold the DofE Award at the appropriate level or complete four challenges. The four challenges for each of the main Awards are exactly the same as the sections of the D of E Awards, namely:

· Skills · Physical Recreation · Service · Expedition ·

There is an extra challenge of a five-day residential experience for The Queen's Scout Award (and Gold DofE Award). If you would like to register for D of E please contact Steve Cree or if you want more information you can contact the County D of E Advisor Dave Henson at the following link: ca.dofe@nottinghamshire-scouts.com
