Module 23 - Safety for Managers and Supporters
     

Objectives

List the main causes/types of accidents in Scouting
Detail their duties and responsibilities for the safe operation of Scouting in their Group, District, County
Explain and apply the Scout Associations' method of Risk Assessment of Scouting activities
Describe their role in approving and/or supporting activities which do not require formal activity authorisations (weekly meetings, visits and trips, activities in Terrain Zero, Class C Waters, etc.)
Explain the Home Contact, medical details, parental permission, age restrictions and other safety and welfare requirements for the range of activities available in Scouting
Explain how Policy, Organisation and Rules, and Activity Factsheets detail the requirements and provide guidance for a range of Scouting activities
Describe the insurance requirements of The Scout Association and state those events and activities for which additional steps must be taken
Describe the actions to take following an accident/incident (or the report of an accident/incident) during Scouting activity
Detail those activities which require specific activity authorisations
Explain the requirements and procedure necessary to gain an activity authorisation and describe their role in the process
